We collect personal details, usage records, transaction metadata, and preference choices.
We collect information that you provide directly when you interact with BookMyBike:
Personal Information
Full name, phone number, email address, date of birth, residential and work addresses, Aadhaar address (for identity verification during booking).
Device & Usage Data
Browser type, device model, OS, IP address, referral URLs, pages visited, session duration, and interaction events via analytics.
Financial Information
Payment transaction references, booking amounts, finance application details. We do not store card numbers or bank credentials directly.
Vehicle Preferences
Browsing history on our catalog, vehicle comparisons, saved favorites, quote requests, and booking records.
How We Use Your Information
Collected information keeps pricing, order fulfillment, finance, and support workflows running.
Your information enables us to deliver a personalised and accurate marketplace experience:
- Provide accurate on-road pricing, RTO charges, and insurance estimates based on your location and vehicle selection.
- Process vehicle quotes, bookings, deliveries, and post-delivery services.
- Match you with authorised dealership partners who can fulfil your order.
- Facilitate vehicle finance applications with our banking partners.
- Send order updates, delivery notifications, and service reminders via WhatsApp and SMS.
- Improve our platform experience, product recommendations, and search relevance.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access to accounts.
Location Data
District-level GPS matching and manual preferences keep regional pricing and serviceability accurate.
Location is central to our marketplace because pricing, taxes (RTO), dealer availability, and serviceability all vary by district. We collect location in two ways:
GPS / Device Location
With your explicit permission, we access your device's GPS to auto-detect your city and district for accurate regional pricing and nearby dealer identification.
Manual Entry
You may manually enter your pincode, city, or district. We store this preference in your profile and browser session so pricing remains consistent across pages.
We do not sell or share raw GPS coordinates with third parties.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
Data sharing is limited to dealers, lenders, payment gateways, and regulatory authorities.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Authorised Dealers: Your name, phone, vehicle preference, and quote details are shared with the dealer partner assigned to fulfil your booking.
- Finance Partners: When you apply for vehicle finance, your application details are shared with the selected banking partner (e.g., HDFC, Bajaj Finance).
- Infrastructure Providers: We use Supabase (database & auth), Vercel (hosting), MSG91 (OTP & WhatsApp), and Razorpay (payments). Each is bound by their own data processing agreements.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BookMyBike or its users.

Communication Preferences
SMS, email, and WhatsApp messaging keeps you updated on bookings and security transactions.
We communicate with you through the following channels:
- WhatsApp — Order updates, delivery notifications, and support (via MSG91).
- SMS — OTP verification codes and critical booking alerts.
- Email — Quote documents, receipts, and optional marketing communications.
You may opt out of marketing communications at any time. Transactional messages (OTP, booking confirmations) cannot be disabled as they are essential to service delivery.
Data Retention & Deletion
Data retention spans active memberships, tax timelines, and aggregated analytics retention.
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
- Active accounts: Data is retained for the duration of your membership.
- Closed accounts: Personal data is deleted or anonymised within 90 days of account closure, unless required by law.
- Financial records: Transaction data may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Indian tax regulations.
- Analytics data: Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.
Your Rights
You hold legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, and export personal data records.
